About Me

About Me

I grew up on my family's farm in southwest Nebraska, and after getting my B.S. in Agriculture Journalism from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln in 2009, I returned to the farm to help my parents with our cows and pursue my graphic design career. My husband, Tim, and I got married August 6, 2011. Although he is more of a commercial cattleman, I am slowly getting him to see that my clubbies aren't such a bad deal! So far, rural Nebraska suits both of us and we are very happy.

I got my start in designing while interning at Shorthorn Country (the American Shorthorn Association publication) in Omaha. I exhibited livestock on local, state and national levels throughout my childhood and teenage years. Interning for a cattle magazine was a "dream job" for me since I had been around cattle and wanted to get a better grasp on the livestock publication industry. While livestock advertising and promotion is a passion of mine, I also enjoy designing logos for companies, projects for special occasions (weddings, babies, holidays, etc.).

I currently provide contract labor for a livestock publication out of Clarion, Iowa, called Livestock Plus, Inc. I also do freelance design work for individuals both in and outside of the livestock/agriculture industry.
